In order e get their'jjpe' have formed an organization evik Descendants, THE COW CREEK DESCENDANTS ORGANIZATION The organization is open to anyone who believes that he or she may be a Cow Creek descendant. The committee which volunteered to form and manage the organization is composed of Carmen Haug, Sharon Hanson and Crystal Thomas, all Grand Ronde tribal members. The organization will raise the funds required to pay the expenses of going forward with the members' claims. A lawyer will be retained, an anthropologist will be consulted to help establish our claims, and the expenses of travel, mail, and telephone calls, among others, must be met. The organization will work closely with our lawyer and the BIA to insure that the Treaty with our ancestors is finally honored and that the true history of our people is recorded.
