Enrollment
The June 1, 1984 deadline lor the names oi" eligible Tribal members to be sent
up to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, so that they may appear in the Federal
Register, has been met. We have had some confusion in this matter, for instance,
people asking if our rolls would close by this deadline If you did not get
the necessary documentation that we need to have you enrolled, in by the deadline
does not mean that you cannot be enrolled with the Tribe if you are eligible. It
means that you name will not appear in the Federal Register, so if you think
you are eligible, and have the documentation establishing your eligibility and
have not sent it in please do so, so we may see if you meet the membership
requirements. All members found eligible to appear on the Federal Register,
work has been started to notify you by mail.
A special Thank-you to the members of the Enrollment Committee, Lois Butler,
Ivanetta Cook, Ila Dowd, Margo George, Nora Kimsey, Martha Mercier, 6. Velma
Mercier, who donated their time to make this deadline, according to our
restoration act, to be met possible. A special Thank-you to Jim St. Martin &
Don Hudson who also donated their time to help meet our deadline. THANK-YOU ALL !!!!
We would also like to thank Marie Schmidt who volunteered her time, but was
unable to make enrollment committee meetings, because of car problems.
