Slunmer Youth Employment And Training Program The Tribe has requested four summer youth positions to work in our local area. These work experience positions will be primarily for the purpose of providing nine weeks of summer employment for economically disadvantaged youths between the ages os k and 21, who are residents of Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties. The date of employment will be from June 18,1984 through August 17,1984. The Tribe has requested four positions: 1) Agricultural worker Two youths 14-17 years old 2) Building Maintance Two youths 18-21 years old The Agriculture workers will work at the Tribal Greenhouse and Cemetary area. The Building Maintance worker will work at the Tribal Office ( Old Train Depot) painting and small repair work. The mid- Willamette Jobs Council will be contacting our office when Intakes will be done on youths wqnting to apply. As soon as more information is recieved it will be put out via the newsletter and postings within the area. All youth must meet Federal Regulations for SYETP AnH income critetia. General Manager 's Report The Tribe is currently organizing the Administration to Federal Statutes and Audit Guidlines. This requires establishment of a full set of Books and Accounting Procedures and a Management Manuel. The new accountant Allan Willkerson, the Manager and Kathryn Harrison and Merle Leno attended a workshop in San Francisco to review accounting requirements. The Tribal Council has signed two Bureau of Indian Affairs contracts totaling $ 100,000.00 to carry out the Management and Reservation Plan. The Tribal Council is also reviewing an Indian Health Service Contract to provide staff at the Tribal office to provide services in the six county service area. Indian Health Committee Report The Indian Health Committee volunteers are John Lillard, Annabelle Hamm, Joyce Millsap, Ellen Campbell, Clarice Ellison and Ray McKnight. The Health Committee will be advisors to the Tribal Council on health needs of the people. We are taking a health survey to find the needs and would appreciate the cooperation of the Trbial members. The Health Committee will act as advocates for health for Grand Ronde Tribal members. Advises the service unit' Director and Indian Health Services of health concerns of Grand Ronde Tribal members through repsentation at the Service Unit Health Board meetings.
