The Title lV-Parent Committee is happy to report that we re ceived our grant proposal application on February 13. With the com bined efforts of the Parent Committee, the Coordinator, the LEA, and the Project Design Committee, the application was completed and mail ed on March 12. We should hear sometime in June on the approval. On March 6, the Grand Ronde Elementary School had the Tears of Joy give their play on? Coyote and the Ceader Tree.: Some PC members attended. March 14, Jayne Mercler, Carmen Kaug, and Margo George attended a Combined Title IV - JOM meeting in Salem. They started their meeting off with a Pot-Luck, then went into their agenda. Lavonne Edmo(Title IV Coordinator), Sue Eggert(JOM Coordinator), and Jake Bighorn(JOM PC Chairman) , chaired the meeting together. They announced that they will have (4) combined meeting a year in which they will also have a Pot-Luck at each. Their meeting was very interesting and informa tive, and we felt very welcome. 1 urge those who live in the Salem area to attend their meetings. For more information you can contact LaVonne at (3?7-3o) and Sue Eggert at (393-3904). The 9th annual OIEA Conference is April 4i5f6th. We are send ing 8 of our parents, so we will have a lot to report on at our next PC meeting April 11. Our Title lV-Parent Committee meeting are held the first Weds, of every month at the orand Ronde Elementary, 600pm. Everyone is Welcome! (Our April meeting has been moved to the 11th because of the conference. I would like to once more remind everyone to contact our Re source Committee, we need your support. Submitted by, Jayne Mercier-PC Chairperson March-1984 INTERIM COUNCIL Eight of the nine member Interim Council spent a day in Oreintation to the B.I.A.'s programs, personal, branches and services on March 20,1984, Tribal Recognition Day for the Grand Ronde Tribe at the Area Office, Portland, Oregon. Mr. Stan Speaks, Area Director addressed the group to start out the day's schedule. Assisstant Area Director, Will Bowker and Agency Supt. Nelson Witt spent the entire day with the group as they met heads of Dept.'s, toured the facility and was treated to lunch in the cafeteria by Helen Peterson, of Tribal Operations.
