I graduated from Santiam High School in Mills City, 19&6. I was honorably discharged
from the Army after serving in the infantry for 2 years. I was a clerktyplst for part
of the t i me in the army. After I was discharged I attended Southern Community College
in Coos Bay and Oregon State University.
I have worked for the Tribe for almost 2 years, during which time I was involved
with the Greenhouse project and the Jam and Jelly Project. I served on the Tribal
Council for a year and months and was selected as a delegate to Washington , DC to
testify for the Tribe in our successful bid to become restored.
l am famiiarwith the problems facing the tribe today in it's efforts to write,
a Const! tuion and By-Laws and to create a Reservation Plan. If elected I promise to
do my best to alleviate those problems and help to serve the Confederated Tribes to
the best of my abi 1 I ty.

I was born and raised in Grand Ronde .Oregon , and I worked here for a lot of people
around this area most of my life. I'm a person who will help anyone with a problem d
day or night at any place I can and I love Children and people.
My name is Merle Leno:
I have lived most of my life in and around Grand Ronde area.
I have been on' the Tribal Council for 7 years. I have also been oh the Title IV
Committee.
My goals are our young people's education, Also our senior citizens welfare, Housing
and medical needs.
If I am elected I would be sure that everyone is treated equal, also to inform the ji
people best that I can.
