These Projects are expected to be implemented durin the 83-84 school year. Project I is a PILOT and DEMON STRRTICN Project to be used as a Cultural Education Center during the summer and as an educational suPPort Program durin the school year. The requested amount for oPeratin9 th Project is approximately $3600. If a P roved the Pro9rs.rn would Provide about 6 jobs Part and full time) and would Provide educa tional services to about 350 In dians within Polk and Vamhill Counties. PROJECT II, is a Cultural heri ta9e and Curriculum Development Project. The Purpose of this Project is to develop a FULL INDIRH curriculum concentrating on the Histories and Lan9ua9e of the Indians of The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde. Its dsin is Primarily 9eared toward curriculum development but it also has an emphasis on instruction in the accepted lanuae of Chinook Jar9on as an official Indian-Lan9ua9e sanc tioned by the Tribal Council. If this Proposal is funded there will be up to six Positions which can be filled by Tribal members. The requested amount i for funding this Project is I 39 881.08. About half of the j requested amount will 90 toward I the Purchase of equipment, and su.PP I ies. SUMMER VOUTH PROGRAM STARTED Monday June 26th three Participants of the Manpower Summer Vouth Pro9ram be an work in at the Tribal rounds in Grand Ronde. Lydia Hosier & Paul GriPPen are Placed with the R9ri cultural Project and will assist with both the Green house & the Tribe's Jam 6 Jelly venture. They are supervised by Frank Harrison. fin9ie Childers works for the Tribe as a Receptionist & is supervised -by Jackie Col ton. Anvie and Lydia are members of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
