held at Western Oregon State
College Monmouth 0re9on to
accept an award on behalf of
the Confederated Tribes of
j Grand Ronde "for contributing
to the historic Preservation of
Polk County for the year
1982". The award consisted of a
Certificate called the
"LUCKVAMUTE AWARD" and also a
Portrait of an old store; both
can be seen han9in9 in the
Tribal Office. Sharon and I
enjoyed the tasty dinner and
the Presentation by their 9uest
speaker Sec. of State Norma
Paul us.

i Affiliated Tribes, of N.W. in
t h e o I d C u s h m a n Hospital ,
T acorn 3., Wash.; May 4 : met
with Elizibeth Fu.rse.. of the
0re9on Le9al Services to make
the necessary chan9es on our
Restoration Bill; and on the
afternoons of May 12-13 I went
to the 0re9on State Library
Salem 0re9on to do some
Research on the Grand Ronde.
Letters of support are still
commin9 in and the total
received to-date is 48. These
include support from att of the
reco9nized Tribes in 0re9on as
well as the most recent letters
from the City Council of
McM i nnv i 1 1 e the Sher i dan
Rotary Club the City Council
of Sheridan and the W. Valley
Chamber of Commerce of
Sheridan 0re9on. . . . AND a
Promise of more to come.
