EXCERPTS FROM . . . "GUIDE TO THE CHEMAWA INDIAN HEALTH CENTER" con't.
Pharmacy
The Chemawa Indian Health Center employs a full-time registered pharmacist
to provide medications prescribed by either the medical staff at the clinic
or by private physicians or dentists. If you are bringing a prescription
written by a private doctor it is probably best to call 370-4203 "to check if
we have the particular medication on hand. If you choose you may take your
prescriptions to a pharmacy of your choice at your own expense. Except in
cases of emergency, patients eligible for contract health service and who live
within a 25 minute driving time of the clinic must have their prescriptions
filled at the Chemawa pharmacy unless other arrangements for payment are made.
Lab and X-Ray
A qualified medical technologist is available to serve clinic patients by
performing many of the tests necessary for diagnosis and treatment. Our
laboratory offers a full range of blood, serum, urine and microbiological
studies.
If you need x-ray examinations other than those requiring contrast media,
such as stomach or colon x-rays, we can also serve you.
Patient Responsibilities
We request that you:
Be responsible for keeping appointments and notifying the
center in advance when unable to keep appointments.
Be responsible for giving truthful information.
Be responsible for treating the clinic with respect as you
would your home.
