Fund raising project CCA (Community Club Awards)
Kathryn Harrison and Cheryl Carl are in the process of coordinating and organizing a fund
raising project to try to generate some money for our Tribal Organization. This is
sponsored by many of the McMinnville area merchants. On certain days at designated stores
bonus points are given for each dollar spent, as well as many other opportunities to gain
points such as going into a sponsor's .store and signing the register they have on hand.
We have a number of booklets to distribute among our members and friends that would like
to help us out during each campaign. In these books it will tell the days and sponsors,
and tell you the amount of points you can gain for your organization. There are many
other non-profit organizations that the tribe will be competing against for each weekly
cash awards. At the end of final campaign drive if the organization did not receive any
weekly cash awards, then KCYX 1260 will buy any proof of purchases back at the rate of
$1.00 per thousand. We would certainly appreciate any help any person in our area that
shops in the McMinnville area could give us. Please contact the Tribal office to pick-up
your campaign books. There are many different ways people can help that do not shop in the
Mac area such as saving certain pop bottle caps and beer cartons and caps etc. We need
all the help we can get to make this project a success.

NEW ENROLLMENT COMMITTEE SELECTED
A new enrollment committee has been selected by the enrollment clerk and the first meeting
was held Wednesday December 8, 1982 at: the Tribal Office at 1:00 p.m.. At this meeting
the new members placed Merle Leno as chairman, Russ Leno as co-chairman and Marion Henry
as Secretary. A brief introduction to the responsibilities of; the committee members, along
with a packet containing the enrollment procedures for future study. The next meeting was
scheduled for Dec. 15, 1982 but had to be canceled. We will meet on Wednesday Dec. 29, 198;
at 2:00 P.M... The following persons are the new members: Merle Leno, Russ Leno, John Mercit
Margo George, Marv Kimsey, Nora Kimsey, Jackie Colton, Velma Mercier, Candy Robertson.
It was suggested that we have an advisory board in conjunction to the enrollment committee
members. It would consist of a number of our elders that would help us with the family
trees and documentation of ancestry. We are still in the process of recruiting more tribal
elders to participate in this board. They would not have to meet as often as the enrollmen
committee members would.
I would like to thank all of our tribal members for all the help and cooperation they have
given me in returning all the required data and information I needed in order to complete
the statistics for the new Tribal Profile that is now completed with the help of Northwest
Consultants and Bruce Peet. Again, thank you all so much and Happy Hoildays to you all!
