LETTERS : TO THE EDITOR Thought I'd write and let you know I am still alive and doing well. It made me lonesome to see someone from Grand Ronde. I am sorry Eula, that you and John had bad luck with your car when you tried to find me, you must try again, let me know when you are coming and I'll have lunch ready for you. I like to cook, so I have all my dinners in the freezer. I am sorry I couldn't get the forms sent back for my enrollment, but when Jackie called me with the information I wanted I couldn't hear her very well. I don't trust my ears very much. Thats why I'm not calling now. If you would be so kind as to send me the information that I need, I will get the letter right back. I can't go anywhere, only when someone takes me. I sure miss my car, but I guess 'we can't have everything. I want to go to the September meeting if I have to thumb a ride. Maybe I'll see a few I recognize. I would like to live there, I like Grand Ronde water, I don't like clorinated water, but I couldn't find a place in Grand Ronde, only Bunn's apt's. If any of you come my way bring a jug of water. Ruth is always interested in Grand Ronde people, she is in Alaska working for the railroad. She loves it there too. She wants me to go to see her, I may later. Lynn is living here in McMinnville, she still works for News Register. Been on that job 17 years she has three grandchildren and expecting third one, Her two oldest children are married and the youngest Pammie is in France as an exchange student. She love it there, also likes her French family. She's in Westhoffen on the River between France and Germany. She took a trip by boat and saw the area that the Germans had during the War. She is going to Switzerland and has been working with her family picking cherrys and plum, they are cutting grape vines now. She has seen Paris and will be home 31 August. Says she's going back someday. She likes it so well. Let me hear from you. All My Love, Celia Smith 2048 N. 99 W. 29 McMinnville, OR 97128 David and I enjoy receiving each of the Smoke Signals.
