There is a lot going on in Indian Country and the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde are
gaining more and more exposure with each slide presentation-as well as the personal rep
resentation that goes along with it. This is good that there is a better understanding
of our plight and our struggle for Restoration but, that road is still long and sometimes
tiuciiia to be all up-hill.
FROM THE COUNCIL . . .
Kathryn Harrison,
Community Organizer
i
As you can see on the front page, there have been some recent changes made in the
Tribal Council. Due to the conflict of interest created by Marv Kimsey and Jackie
Cotton serving on the Tribal Council and, also the-staff , the Tribal Counfeil accepted
their resignations at a peeting held February 4 1982, at the tribal office in Grand
Rpnde, Council action at that meeting resulted in Merle Holmes being moved to the
Chairman position and Kathryn Harrison to fill the position of Sec.Treas. Marv and
Jackie stressed that they will contirue to work, as they have in the past, with th
Tribal Council to reach the goals set in 1975. Mary has served on the Council
since the tribe reorganized in 1975 and was Chairman for the last 5 12 years; i
Jackie served on the Council for 5 years as Sec.Treas.
