ft Af:1 THE CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF GRAND RONDE BASEBALL TEAM MAKES GOOD SHOWING IN WARM SPRINGS The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde baseball team and families traveled to Warm Springs June 20 where the team participated in an All Indian Tournament June 21 and 22. Other teams in the tournament were:" 2 Warm Springs teams, Nesqualie and Chiloquin,1' Grand Ronde beat Chiloquin 8-3 and advanced to the finals with one 'of the Warm Springs teams. The boys played hard but could not prevail as they, lost 27-7 to claim 2nd place in the tournament. Two of the boys, Doug Col ton and Clayton Sump were named to the All Star team and given trophies for their individual efforts. . Brian Paul also received a trophy for.,, "Outstanding. Outfielder". Grand Ronde was also award ed the Sportsmanship trophy (the boys were especially proud of that one). "HYASH" THANK YOU ... . ' We would like to take this opportunity to thank two very special people . ; who made the trip to Warm Springs a time the boys and their families will i not forget, Allen (Biff) and Louise Langley of Warm Springs. The team had. . purchased food to prepare during our stay. We ended up coming home with most of it. Biff and Louise had food for the entire group (about 39 of us) ready when we arrived and kept us full the whole time we were there. They opened their home to us and literally had us move in with them, After the boys' win over Chiloquin, Biff and Louise treated the team and their families to pizza in Madras. Words on paper cannot express the grati tude, felt in our hearts for your hospitality Biff and Louise.
