GRAND RONDE ELDERLY TRANSPORTATION
The month of November, the Grand Ronde Elderly Transportation program
transported 58 riders. Along with our 55 regular riders, we are happy to
welcome 3 new riders. Also the 3 new riders we had in the month of October.
The Tribal car traveled a total of 2,016 miles in November as compared
to the 2,056 miles the car traveled in the month of October.
The transportation donations for the month of November have decreased
somewhat, but we are hoping they will increase soon after the holiday season
is over. We appreciate those donations that have been made.
If you have any questions or you would like transportation to see your
Doctor, Optometrist, Dentist or go to the bank, do some shopping (last min
ute Christmas shopping?), phone us at 879-5253 to schedule your ride. We
will be looking forward to your call.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
OUTREACH
Applications are still being taken for "Energy Crisis" monies, in
our area. If your income source is Social Security, Supplemental Security
Income (SSI), unemployment compensation, or low wages you are probably
eligible. Those who live in our Grand Ronde area can call the tribal
office for further information (879-5253). If you are eligible, an
interview will be arranged, papers will be filled out and signed. Those
who live in areas other than Grand Ronde should contact their nearest
"Information and Referral Center" for assistance. These emergency funds
were scheduled for November and December. If you are uncertain about
qualifying, call! You might be surprised.
