FROM THE COUNCIL .....
The Tribal Council will meet Dec. 22, 1979 at 10:00 a.m., at the Tribal
office in Grand Ronde. Items on the agenda include a report from John Allen
and Cheryle Ann Kennedy in regards to the possible funding of a museum in
which Indian artifacts 6f The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde will be
displayed.
Other issues are the concerns of the tribe to become involved in CETA
programs in FY '80. .'; There has been no information on planning or consider
ations for FY '80 towards the funding for The Confederated Tribes of Grand
Ronde.
We have submitted proposals and received denials. Some are still pend
ing further action, until the appropriations are received by the Prime Sponsor.
There "has been no informantion on FY '80 funding and we are well into the first
quarter of fiscal year '80.
The office has been' staffed by volunteer personell since the end of a
five month program (Sept. 30, 1979). The slow transition between FY '79 to
FY '80 has had a marked effect on our programs. The appreciation of dedicated
tribal members cannot be expressed enough as they volunteer their time with
out regard to pay. They work long hours and late hours preparing the news
letter each month. Their rewards and ours will be your support and directions
in reaching cur goals.
