    YOUTH CONFERENCE HELD IN TACOMA
The annual 'Northwest J Indian Youth Conference was held in Taeoma
May 3,U, and 5th. Students and accompaning adults from Oregon, Wash
ington, California, Nevada, Idaho and Canada attended. Workshops
covered Drug Abuse, Indian Etiquette, Indian Psychology Media Images,
What After High School?, Club Activities, Discrimination and Pre
judice, Leadership Skills, Role Playing, Newsletters, Cultural Sharing,
Treaties, Government Support, and several Art Workshops. A Disco Dance,
Few Wow, and Banquet livened up the social life for all participants-.
Delia Fischer, Stella Fischer, Tyla Hill, Barbra Mercier, Terri
Mercier, Roseanne Sump, Michaelle Lambert, and Carmen Haug were
present representing School District 30J and The Confederated Tribes
of Grand Ronde. The trip was very rewarding academically as well as
socially.

Because of increased interest in Title lv Indian Education
Craft Nights we will be having classes both Wednesday, 6:30 P.M.
and Friday, 7 J 00 P.M. vJe are having a good ournout and would like
to encourage more participation by adults as trell as students.
TITLE IV MEETING SCEEDT LED
A Title IV, Part A meeting will be held lay 21, 7:00 F.M.. at
the Grand Ronde Grade School. The meeting will be held to elect a
Chairperson. Parent participation is needec to insure an active
and ongoing program.
RUMMAGE SALE SLATiSD FOR MAf 2Uth, 25th
A rummage sale will be held at the Grerd Ronde Library Thursday,
May 2Uth and Friday , May 25th from 10:00 .M. until 5:00P.M. .Proceeds
will go to the Senior Transportation Program to help with rising costs.
