New fabrics and more at Sew Dee-Liteful
The Sew Dee-Liteful Quilt Shop
offers a colorful array of fabric and
sewing supply options for any and
all occasions. And lately, shop
owner Davida Plaisted has been
ordering new Native American
theme prints, all very beautiful. Just
recently, she adds, “I’ve made two
wing dresses.”
Ms. Plaisted wishes to thank the
Warm Springs customers for their
support. She hopes the shop saves
on some driving time for people
who are looking for new fabric and
other sewing supplies.
Sew Dee-Liteful is located at 45
SE D Street in Madras, site of the
former dance studio, and years ago
the old Shangri-La café.
Davida opened the shop at the
location in October of last year.
Sew Dee-Liteful hours are Thurs-
days 12-4 p.m.; and Friday through
Monday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ap-
pointments are also welcome.
In her other job, Davida works
as the administrative assistant at the
Madras-Jefferson County Chamber
of Commerce. Her husband Ken is
the district manager of Abby’s Pizza.
The Sew Dee-Liteful Quilt Shop
is more than a business, as for Ms.
Plaisted the art of sewing has al-
ways been part of her life. “In
school I loved Home Economics,”
Davida says, “and growing up I
sewed a lot.”
She opened Sew Dee-Liteful
“because I want to sell fabric, and
I’ve wanted a place where people
can come in and sew,” she says.
There are weekly open sew ses-
sions Mondays and Thursdays.
Davida works at the shop mostly
on the weekends, while also work-
ing there are team members Minda
Morton, and Cheryl and Larry
Armitage.
