Covid cases—with hospi-
talizations and deaths—have
risen greatly in the Gorge
area. Wasco and Klickitat
counties have seen several
covid deaths in recent weeks,
and all local hospitals were
reporting no or limited Inten-
sive Care Unit space.
North Central Public
Health District, ser ving
Wasco, Sherman and Gilliam
counties, reported the high-
est weekly total case count of
the pandemic so far, with
177 cases reported in the
three counties. Forty-two
residents of the district have
died since the pandemic be-
gan.
tribal school officials said the
school building would remain
closed until this Friday, Sep-
tember 24.
Meanwhile, the Yakama
School students have had to
attend class online everyday
at normal class hours on
Google Classroom.
Along with the school
shutdown, Yakama School
sports were also suspended
until further notice.
Covid-19 was the factor
mentioned in the post by the
school.
