Jacques Paul Martinez
passed away on August
10, 2020 at Spring Valley
Hospital Medical Center,
Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jacques was born in
Bend to Urbana Ross and
Danny Martinez on May
2, 1973.
Jacques lived most of
his life in Warm Springs
before moving to Las Ve-
gas. He was an enrolled
member of the Warm
Springs Confederated
Tribes, and when he was
home in Oregon, Jacques
often went to the Colum-
bia River and Sherars
Bridge to exercise his
1855 Treaty fishing
rights.
Like his brothers,
Jacques was a fire-fighter,
a member of the Warm
Springs Hot Shots and
other fire crews in Cen-
tral Oregon.
He attended War m
Springs grade school and
Madras junior high and
Madras High School,
where he graduated in
1991. While in high
school Jacques was active
in football, wrestling and
baseball. Jacques was also
active in student govern-
ment. He was class presi-
dent in his Senior year.
Jacques
was
a
good student, and was
named to the honor roll
many times. Jacques was
preceded in death by his,
mother Urbana (Toto)
Ross, and his older
brother Joel Martinez.

father

younger sisters Monet
Martinez of Eugene;
Demitra McCabe of Sali-
nas, California; grand-
mother Arlene Boileau of

Jacques had the most
calm and reserved dispo-
sition, always positive and
finding the positive in a
negative situation. He
never talked bad about
anyone, always finding
the good in every person
he knew.
