he main territory of the
White River wolf pack is the
Warm Springs Reservation.
Branch of Natural Re-
sources wildlife monitors
saw the first wolf of the pack
a few years ago, followed by
the sighting of a mate. Some
of these observation were by
remote camera, and some
were seen by the wildlife
team.
Mid last year Natural Re-
sources reported the pair
had produced six wolf pups.
A recent state count of the
Oregon wolf population is at
158. Five of these are mem-
bers of the White River
pack.

first published in 1976
by the Confederated
Tribes
of
Warm
Springs.
The Spilyay is
mailed free of charge
to tribal members, on
and off the reservation.
