Anniversary year at Museum
You can see exceptional artwork by Warm Springs
youth at the museum through March 3.
The Museum at Warm
Springs this year is celebrat-
ing its Twenty-Fifth Anni-
versary. There are some
unique events—a Treaty of
1855 exhibit, for instance—
coming up in 2018 at the
museum. Some events on
the calendar:
March 12: A Washat
Service at 10 a.m.
March 17: War m
Springs community cel-
ebration of the anniversary.
The museum opened in
March of 1993. The exhibit
Twanat: Celebrating Our
Legacy opens.
April 14: Honor Dinner
at the World Forestry Cen-
ter. Presentation of the
Twanat and Lifetime
Achievement awards.
May 31: Seeds of Dis-
covery science field day for
local fourth graders, sup-
ported by an Oregon State
University and NASA.
June 7: Opening of the
reception hall exhibit Patriot
Nations, a banner exhibit
from the National Museum
of the American Indian.
June 21: Opening of the
exhibit Memory of the
Land: The Treaty of the
Middle Columbia River
Tribes and Bands.
August 18: Huckleberry
Harvest annual banquet and
auction.
October 1: Opening,.
Middle Oregon Treaty of
1855 display.
October 25-27: Treaty
symposium At Kah-Nee-Ta
Resort.
November: Tribal Mem-
ber Art Exhibit; and Native
American Art Market.

Seniors lunch
Seniors are invited to the
Warm Springs Senior Cen-
ter for lunch this Thursday,
February 15 from noon to 1
p.m. On the menu: Cajun
salmon with pineapple salsa.
Those 60 and older eat for
free. Lunch is $5 for anyone
age 12 to 59, and children
under 12 cost $3 each.

Warm Springs OSU Ex-
tension is seeking volunteers
for its Master Food Preserver
program.
Volunteers help folks
make safe food preservation
choices. Warm Springs Exten-
sion is recruiting applicants to
participate in 48 hours of in-
depth food safety and pres-
ervation training on Tuesdays
April 10-May 29.
If possible, you need to
apply by this Thursday, Feb-
ruary 15. For more informa-

Veterans, Family Healing Circle
The Veterans and Fam-
ily Healing Circle an-
nounced the annual gather-
ing, coming up in April.
The gathering, April 25-
29, will be at the HeHe
Longhouse. This year the
theme is ‘Honoring Our
Women in Service.’ Every-
one is welcome.
The weekend includes
healing ceremonies, speak-
ers, elders’ wisdom, men’s
sweat lodge, women’s sweat
lodge, washing of the hands
ceremony, free healing
touch treatments, raffle,
fun and friendship.
No fees of any kind are
being charged. Contribu-
tions of food, volunteer
time and raffle items are
greatly appreciated. To do-

A kick-off event for
Jefferson County Relay for
Life is at the Madras-
Jefferson County Chamber

Council seeks to fill tribal board positions
The Tribal Council of the
Confederated Tribes of
Warm Springs would like to
advertise the following tribal
board positions:
There is one position,
non-member, on the Warm
Springs Ventures board.
This is the economic devel-
opment corporation of the
Confederated Tribes.
The candidate should be
interested in the economic
and social development of
the tribe and its membership;
and possesses expertise in pri-
vate industry, finance or
banking, or some other field
which would benefit corpo-
ration.
There is one position,
non-member, open on the
Warm Springs Composite
Products board.
There are two position
open on the Warm Springs
Tribal Employment Rights
Office (TERO) Commis-
sion, a division of Warm
Springs Ventures.
There is one position
open on the Kah-Nee-Ta
Resort board of directors;
and one position, non-mem-
ber on the tribal Credit en-
terprise board.
For all of these positions:
