A thank-you from Children’s Protective Services
Honor veterans dinner
The Simnasho com-
munity is hosting a Veter-
ans Appreciation Dinner
this Thursday, November
9 at the Simnasho
Longhouse.
There will be 1 seven
of Washut at 5, and a
potluck dinner at 6.
Simnasho welcomes
all to share a meal with
our veterans in apprecia-
tion of their time and
service.
Healing day at Longhouse
The Behavioral Health
Center will host a Trauma-
Grief Conference on Tues-
day, November 21 at the
Agency Longhouse. The
conference, from 8 a.m. to
4:30 p.m., is Healing for Men,
Women, Families and Our
Community.
Subjects on the agenda in-
clude Tribal Grief Cycle,
Breakout Healing Groups,
and closing prayer. A break-
fast and lunch will be
served. For more informa-
tion call Alice Sampson or
Annie Kalama at the Behav-
ioral Health Center, 541-
553-3205. Or you can sign
up at the conference.
Native art market at museum

Kids at the CPS made signs in appreciation of the candy donation from Indian Head Casino.
I would like to take this
opportunity to say thank you
to Indian Head Casino for
the donation of candy for
Halloween night.
It was so great to see all
the children’s smiles and cos-
tumes. We had a great turn-
out of trick-or-treaters, and
each one got some delicious
treats.
In past years our program
always ran out of treats, but
we had plenty this year. Your
contribution is highly appre-
ciated.
I look forward to working

The week of November
13-17 is Native Spirit Week
at the Warm Springs Acad-
emy.
Monday is Eagle Day,
Tuesday is Ribbon Day, and
Wednesday is Bead Day.
Thursday is Rock Your
Mocs Day, and Friday is
School Colors Day.
On Eagle Day, students
wear their Academy Eagle
shirts, or anything with an
Eagle or Native design on
future.

bracelet with ribbon.
The Museum at Warm
Springs will host the Na-
tive American Art Mar-
ket on Saturday, Novem-
ber 18. Celebrate Native
American art, and pur-
chase original artwork di-
rectly from the artists.
Vendors will be Warm
Springs tribal and other
community members.
There is a $5 vendor fee.

Tour of timber harvest area
A timber tour of the pro-
posed harvest areas for the
Triple Butte Timber sale is
scheduled for this Thursday,
November 9.
Vans will leave the admin-
istration building at 9 a.m.
Sack lunches will be pro-
vided. Be sure to wear warm
clothes and sturdy footwear.
