Eclipse: Native Sol on campus
(Continued from page 1)
The Native Sol festival will
be on the campus area Sat-
urday through Monday,
hosted by Native Aspirations
and the Health and Human
Services Branch.
Native Sol starts each of
the three days at 9 a.m. when
the vendors are open. Tribal
exhibition dances will be Sat-
urday and Sunday at 1 p.m.;
family games and prizes at 3
p.m.; and live music at 5 p.m.
On Saturday the live music
is by Blue Flamez, and on
Sunday by Kelly Jackson.
Native Sol on Monday
will feature a powwow at 11
a.m. following the eclipse.
Vendors need to register and
pay the $30 vendor fee. You
can register in person at the
Family Resource Center with
Reina Estimo. Or email:
reina.estimo@wstribes.org
You can reach her at 541-
615-0144 for more infor-
mation. There is no camp-
ing at the Native Sol site; no
campfires or fireworks. This
is a drug and alcohol free
event. Traffic in that area
will be one way in on Wasco
Street and one way our on
Warm Springs Street.
Safety: Vision safety is critical

Clinic regular hours of
operation resume on August
28. Walk-In appointments
only from 8 am. to 5 p.m. on
Friday, August 18, and Mon-
day and Tuesday, August 21-
22.
Due to the possibility of
heavy traffic and long delays
in travel, the clinic will be see-
ing walk-in appointments only
on these dates. There will be
no pre-scheduled appoint-
ments or same day appoint-
ments available.
Hydration: It is ex-
tremely important to drink
enough water to keep you
hydrated. Remember to
have extra water in case of
water shortage.
Vision: Watching the so-
lar eclipse without eclipse
glasses can result in vision loss.
There will be a limited
number of glasses available
at Warm Springs Health and
Wellness Center.
You can get these glasses
from the Optometry Depart-
ment.
Glasses will also be distrib-
uted to the community on
Sunday at the Native Sol
event.
