Dear Warm Springs,
I would like to recognize the
athletes of Jefferson County Spe-
cial Olympics Oregon.
We had several tribal members
who are athletes on our team.
Jefferson County Special Olym-
pics attended the June 2017 re-
gional softball competition in
Medford. This was the first time
in a long time that Jefferson
County has participated in a spring/
summer sports competition.
The county offers fall bowling
and winter basketball sports com-
petition, but the coaches and ath-
letes of Jefferson County wanted
to have something to carry us
throughout the year.
This year the team had a won-
derful season that ended in
Medford with the Jefferson County
Rangers placing first and bringing
home the Gold medals.
A special thank you to the In-
dian Head Casino, Portland General
Electric, Back Street Construction
and several local community mem-
bers for their generous donations
that helped our county provide this
sporting event.
We would also like to thank the
Identity Zone for designing our
uniforms.
If you have an individual, 8 years
old and up, who would like to par-
ticipate in Jefferson County Special
Olympics, please contact Ellen
Courtney at 541-325-1179.
Respectfully,
Johnathan
Courtney, Special Olympics head
coach, Jefferson County.
