In the Oregon legislature
Senate Bill 145 would en-
courage economic develop-
ment on reservations. The
bill would continue a tax
credit program that first be-
came law in 2001. Oregon
Sen. Ted Ferrioli, R-John
Day, is a sponsor of SB 145.
Oregon tribes can have a
single “reservation enterprise
zone.” Alternatively, a tribe
can enter into an agreement
with a city, port or county
government to directly create
and co-sponsor any number
of contiguous “reservation
partnership zones” anywhere
in Oregon.
