Students graduating from YouthBuild
The Warm Springs com-
munity is cordially invited to
the 2017 Heart of Oregon
Corps YouthBuild graduation
celebration.
The celebration is set for
this Thursday, January 5 start-
ing at 11 a.m.
The ceremony will be held
at the Madras Performing
Arts building located next to
Madras High School, 412
Buff Street in Madras.

The Jefferson County
School District 509-J Board
of Directors was scheduled
to meet this Thursday, Jan. 5
at the Madras Performing
Arts Center multi-purpose
room.
However, the recent
weather has caused the can-
cellation of various school
activities. It was not yet clear
whether this would include
the Thursday board meeting.
On the agenda, if the
meeting happens, is the super-
intendent search update, with
Steve Kelley of the Oregon
School boards association.
Another item is the pro-
posed calender for the 2017-
18 school year budget; and
hearing of citizens and del-
egations.
