New health topics at Seniors Lunch
The IHS Diabetes and
tribal Senior programs will be
starting new health education
topics for 2017.
These will be at the Seniors
Lunch the second Tuesday of
the month. There will be a
learning topic each month:
January: Health care ben-
efits.
School:
February: Foot care. And
March: Eye care.
“Our goal is to reach more
people with health informa-
tion,” said Montell Elliott, of
the Diabetes Program. “The
topics were picked by people
who have come to our events
in 2016.”
Join the discussion and
lunch at 12 noon on Tues-
day, January 11 at the Se-
nior Center. The IHS Busi-
ness Office will talk about
Medicare.
Tribal Managed Care will
also be there, and will talk
about coverage for glasses
and dentures.

Warm Springs, for instance,
having no representative,
Molitor said. “When I first
joined the district nine years
ago, I was surprised the board
members are at large,” he
said.
Across the state, school
boards have all kinds of con-
figurations: five members,
seven, nine, elected by zone
or at large.
Another example: The
Jefferson County Education
Service District has seven
members. Four members are
zoned, and three are at large.
