Michael Martinez will be the

Prevention this week is
recruiting students at the
Warm Springs Academy, and
at the Roots program. Stu­
dents at Madras High School
are welcome to participate.

items on the three-day con­
ference agenda:
Day one: Overview and
team building; goals and val­
ues;, culture and traditions;
honoring diversity and re­
specting differences. Each day
will include lunch, door prizes
and a fun activity.
Day two items: Stages o f
change; reproductive health;
sexually transmitted diseases;
and drugs and alcohol.
Day three: A field trip to
the health clinic; acting out
and decision making; healthy
re la tio n sh ip s; pregnancy,
parenting, and downside o f
hooking up.

On Track OHSU at Warm Springs Academy
O n Track O H SU is
an outreach program for
W arm S prings high
school students to learn
more about health and
science careers.
T he first O n Track
OHSU high school event
is coming up on Saturday,
N o v em b e r 19, fpom 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. at the k-8,
Academy.
This will be a chance for
W arm Springs youth to
meet OHSU students who
ate studying to be nurses,
doctors and scientists.
They will talk about
education pathways and
th e ir ex p erien ces in
health and science.
There will be activities

T h e M useum at
Warm Springs is hosting
a Native Art Market and
Huckleberry Pie contest
this Saturday, Nov. 12.
T he m arket and pie
contest will be from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m. at the mu­
seum.
Guests are welcome
to try a slice o f the com-'
peting pies. There will be
vendor tables, and a 50/
50 raffle. Tickets can be
purchased from museum
staff.

screening, assessment,
crisis intervention, referrals
to mental health, medical,
substance treatment, or
other com m unity re­
sources. Children, adoles­
cents and adults are wel­
come.
There
is a food
handler’s class from 2-4
p.m. in the IHS atrium.
The Warm Springs Vo­
cational Rehabilitation
program has orientation
today at 3 p.m. at their of­
fice in the industrial park.
