WSFPI auction planned for Nov.
The tribal receivership pro-
cess for Warm Springs For-
est Products Industries will in-
volve the auction of assets at
the mill site.
The receivership, managed
by Edward Hostmann Inc., is
a tribal court process.
The receiver has proposed
a three-day auction at the mill
site, from November 15 to
17. The tribal court judge in
the case will consider the pro-
posal at a hearing set for
October 14.
In these kinds of auctions,
most of the bidders will be
at the auction site, Mr.
Hostmann said. There could
be some on-line bidding, but
most will be on hand to view
the items, he said.
The idea is to have ap-
proximately eight-hour auc-
tions over the three days, Mr.
Hostmann said: Experience
has shown that very lengthy
auction days, lasting for ex-
ample up to 12 hours, are not
as productive.
There can be an average
of up to 100 items auctioned
per hour.
At the least, the WSFPI
equipment will be auctioned.
Some items will be sold as
for the 1910 Indian Shaker
Religion will begin with din-
ner served each evening at
6 p.m. in the dinning hall,
and Shaker Services to fol-
low at 7.
This will be each night
in the Shaker Church,
Cleanup for CPS
scrap metal.
Eventually, the idea is to
sell the mill assets including
the buildings, down to the
foundations. There is cur-
rently some question as to
who owns the buildings,
WSFPI or the tribes. Resolu-
tion of this question will de-
termine whether the planned
November auction will in-
clude the mill buildings them-
selves.
The tribes meanwhile are
establishing a timber com-
pany that will generate rev-
enue to fund, for instance,
the Senior Pension fund.
