to go on the back roads
without having to have a
tribal member with me.

Murray loves living in his

want to have my children

Our names are Joseph
Alexander Chaplin and
Charles Chaplin. Our
mother is Dawn Osmond
and we would like to re-
ceive your vote to be en-
rolled into the Confeder-
ated Tribes of War m
Springs. We are descen-
dants of Jeannette Brunoe
and Delores Garcia. It has
been a long dream of ours
to become tribal mem-
bers, and to be part of
something so great and to
help continue the tradition
of Warm Springs is an
honor.
We are Wasco Indian
and grew up in War m
Springs. We both went to
elementary school here
and lived at 1302 Eagle
Way for most of our lives.
I remember playing tee
ball for Fire and Safety
and going to Pi-Ume-Sha,
listening to 8 Ball do his
thing on the microphone,
and playing craps with
Lyell at the Longnouse. We
Laki Aiden Jones is my
great grandson, and I feel
it is important for me to
write in behalf of him to
become a tribal member.
He is descendant to
Oits Johnson, Paiute
leader of the 78 Paiutes
who returned to the
Warm Springs Reserva-
tion in 1878. Oits was
married
to
Sarah
Johnson, and they had a
son, Mark Johnson, who
married Sallie Johnson.
Mark fathered four chil-
dren, Una, Addie, Orin
and Luella. Una would
have been Laki’s great-
great-great grandmother.
Una Johnson and Johnnie
Tewee had a son,
Raymond Johnson Sr.
Raymond Johnson Sr.,
Paiute Chief, would have
been Laki’s great-great
grandfather. Raymond
(Tape) Johnson married
Rosanna Charley and had
several children, one be-
ing me, Myra Johnson-
Orange. I had children,
one being Sandra
Johnson-Perez, now mar-
ried to Isidro Perez.
Their daughter, Alaina
Johnson Jones is now
married to Isaac Jones,
and are the parents to
Laki.
Laki was born at Ma-
dras and has been resid-
ing within the boundaries
of Warm Springs since
birth. I have taken the
time to raise my grand-
have tried several times as
children to get enrolled
but we were too young to
voice our thoughts about
being adopted. With all
this being said, we need
your help as tribal mem-
bers to vote for us when
the time comes.
We will always con-
sider War m Springs
home. Thank you for
reading this and please
help us accomplish our
life-long goal, which is to
be members of the Con-
federated Tribes and con-
tinue our legacy as Native
Americans.

children, knowing who
they are and where they
come from. My grand-
children, who now will
include Lake, are taught
and exposed to the three
cultures and languages of
our reservation.
Laki is one-eighth
War m Springs blood,
Paiute, Sahaptin, Colville,
Yakama and Umatilla. I
believe that it is very very
important that Laki learn
his heritage and where he
is from, so that he will be
identified as a War m
Springs tribal member.
He will learn much of
that by belonging to a
place and being grounded
and stable in his personal
life. So please submit his
name for adoption. As all
can see, Laki will have
open opportunity to learn
his bloodline, languages
and traditions of the
Warm Springs Reserva-
tion. Respectfully submit-
ted,
Myra Johnson-Or-
ange.
We are submitting
our son Laki Aiden Jones
for adoption into the
Confederated Tribes. I,
Alaina Johnson-Jones,
tribal member, have re-
sided on the reservation
all my life.
It is important to us
and to Laki to belong to
this tribe, as we all need
to belong and obligate
ourselves to a place. We
believe Laki has oppor-
tunities to learn his lan-
guages and traditions that
will strengthen his heri-
tage, therefore opening
his opportunities to give
back to the tribe when he
grows to adulthood.
We appreciate your at-
tention and consideration
regarding the future of
our son, Laki Aiden Jones.
With respect, Alaina
Johnson-Jones ,
mother.
Adoption into the Con-
federated Tribes of warm
Springs would be a great
privilege to me. It has al-
ways been my hope to
one day obtain tribal
membership status so that
I can become a fully rec-
ognized member of the
War m Springs tribe.
Membership will allow me
to become a fully Native
member of the tribe.
Membership will also al-
low me to strengthen my
link with my heritage as
my family has always en-
couraged me to maintain,
as well as foster, my bond
with the Confederated
Tribes of Warm Springs.
By obtaining member-
ship status with Warm
Springs, I would strive to
promote the cultural, so-
cial and economic well
being of the War m
Springs people and their
community.
