state playoffs. T he W hite-Buffaloes
are scheduled to host a first-round
contest this Friday, M arch 4. T hey
play Valley Catholic. T he girls are
playing for a third trip to the final
sit.e in six years.

semi-finals will be at Liberty H igh
School.

Portland State University is encouraging Native American
students to participate in its summer program on Climate
Change and Aerosol Research (CCAR), and Research
Experiences for Undergradutes (REU) program Is. CCAR
REU is 10 weeks, from June 27-Sept. 2 in Portland. Students
receive a $4,500 stipend for the 10 weeks. Application

Sophomore guard Lynden Harry, Madras White Buffalos girls
varsity basketball team, was nominated in February for the
Athlete of the Week by The O regonian/O regonLive. The
honor came in recognition of Lynden’s game against Molalla,
and an earlier performance against Crook County,
In the Molalla game, Lynden made six 3-pointers, with 33
points overall; plus 10 rebounds, as the White Buffaloes
clinched a share of the Tri-Valley Conference title, 55-49 vs.
Molalla.

A Pet Clinic is coming up this. There will be pet shots
for $15; licenses for $5; and spay and neuter
