The museum, in Washing- ton, D.C., featured Native women artists who received the prestigious National En- dowment for the Arts Heri- tage Fellowship Award. Courtney Gold partici- pated in the Program, Cre- ativity and Continuity, March 7-8, sharing the Wasco Na- tion weavings, and heritage with the public. Courtney Gold and her sis- ter Pinky Beymer traveled to Washington, D.C., on March 6, arriving just after the big snow storm that closed down all offices. They spent the weekend walking in 6 inches of snow. After Pat’s work in the mu- seum, they toured the Space Museum, and the American History Museum, enjoying a snowy winter walk in the Mall. “An evening walk in the Mall, with the snow and Capi- tol Building and full moon, was an unforgettable experi- ence,” Pat says. She has her work exhib- ited and collected by many museums, including the Port- land Art Museum, the Or- egon Historical Society, the Peabody Museum at Harvard University, and the British Museum in London. She was an invited artist at the Maori Culture Center in New Zealand, and has also studied at the Museum of World Culture in Frankfurt, Germany. She received the presti- gious National Endowment for the Arts Heritage Award in 2007 and an Oregon Arts Award in 2001. When the Warm Springs and Wasco tribes were force- fully removed from the Co- lumbia River area in the 1850s, the art form of weav- ing baskets was nearly lost. Courtney Gold and her sis- ter Bernyce Courtney worked with elders to help revive the art form. One of the reasons Courtney Gold travels and gives talks is because she thought she would never see Wasco baskets outside of museums. “I want to share my knowledge so this art form never dies out,” Courtney Gold said. Pat earlier this week pre- sented Columbia River Na- tive Women at the St. Helens Librar y, “Librar y After Hours” series of programs for adults. 2014 Buick Verano Msrp $25,795 dir discount $673 - March Madness Rebate $4,127 - Total sale price $20,995 stck #238808 2014 Chevy Silverado Crew cab 4x4 - Msrp $43,010 - after discounts, rebate and trade-in, total sale price $33,995 stk #534930 2015 Chevy Sonic Msrp $15,670 - dir discount $175 - rebate $500 - total sale price $14,995 stk #158490 2015 Chevy Malibu - Msrp $23,565 - dir discount $570 - rebate $1,500 - bonus cash $500 - total sale price $20,995 stk # 155324 2015 Chevy Spark Msrp $14,405 - dir discount $410 - total sale price $13,995 stk #744305 Pre-Owned Vehicle Specials 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe 2D 121,065 miles $2,995 #93367C 2005 GMC Yukon SLE Sport Utility 4D. 113,782 miles. $12,995. #63797A 1998 Ford Mustang GT Coupe 2D 123,612 miles $3,995 #29110B 2004 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LT Sport Utility 141,790 miles. $8,995. #07575A
