Reunion
No Fear
Greetings to the Warm
Springs community,
As the Portland to
Coast walk relay comes to
an end for 2014, as do the
memories of the greatest
adventure—The Mother
of All Relays, and not to
mention the muscle
strains, blisters, aches and
pains… but so worth the
fun and excitement!
I would like to person-
ally extend my apprecia-
tion to the ladies of team
No Fear for going above
and beyond what was ex-
pected; words along aren’t
enough to say how proud
I am of each of you…
Kudos, high five, and roll
out the red carpet to all
you ladies…
Lynn Graybael, Angel

Home fire
We, the family of Rachel
K. Macy and kids, Mariah,
Lil’ LeRoy, Lorenzo and
Raquel Smith, lost our entire
home on September 10,
2014.
Our beloved pets have
been fostered by the Madras
Animal Hospital until we can
get situated in a home with a
fenced yard; we hope. We
are very temporarily staying
at a motel in the local area. I
have been reminded to ad-
vocate very strongly on be-
half of my children and their
overall well being. I was to
move my daughter LaTonia
and grandsons Enzo and
Aden into our home at the
end of September; so they
were also affected by the fire.
I had moved some of their
clothing in before they actu-
ally moved in. The following
are sized for my children and
grandsons. We are sincerely
thankful for all the kind
words, prayers and support.
We are blessed to be alive
and well as we grieve the loss
of everything Mariah and I
have worked so hard to earn,
to take care of our family.
In the fire, I lost my beloved
pink
1968
Pontiac
Catalina… no more pink
cruises into the sunset.
Again, thank you for your
support.

This will be a potluck style
gathering. There will be a
meal at noon.
Get to know who are our
relatives and family ties. This
is a good time to start your
genealogy chart and family
tree. Lear names along with
the nicknames.

Canoe Family
Greetings everyone who
has been involved with the
Canoe Family through your
programs, operations, and/
or personal support since
2010.
After five years, thanks to
you, we’re still around with
plenty to do—$175,000 in
fundraising, 250 community
members reached, 15-plus
community partnerships, etc.
We’d like to iron out a few
details going into next year,
and we’d love for you to meet
each other and hear each
other out.
The October 6 luncheon
at the Education building
conference room will feature
a short overview of the ‘Nchi
Wanapum Canoe Family,
where it’s been, who has been
involved, our numbers, and
statistics.
But we’d rather hear from
you, document and acknowl-
edge your input, answer any
questions you may have, and
gear up to continue growing
this cultural and leadership
development program.
Thank you for your time,
and we look forward to see-
ing you October 6 at 12 p.m.
for lunch.

Fruit Loop
The Warm Springs Or-
egon State University Exten-
sion office annual Fruit Loop
Tour outing was in Septem-
ber. We made several stops
on the tour, and picked up
some delicious local produce.
The following day we held
canning demonstration
classes for apple pie filling
and peaches.
Special
thanks
to
Montavon’s Berries for allow-
ing us to glean, and to Randy
Kiyokawa and Kiyokawa
Family Orchards for the won-
derful presentation on the
history of agriculture in the
Hood River Valley.
We always enjoy the trip
and look forward to next year.
