By early this week, the blaze had grown to over 50,000 acres, with containment near, as cooler weather arrived. One home on the reservation was lost in this fire. The Shaniko Butte fire burnedon the east side of the reservation, while the Logging Unit Complex fires burned to the west. One of the Logging Unit fires was burning in the Sidwalter area, requiring a level evacuation notification, which was relaxed on Tuesday. The winners The Fourth of July 2014 Parade Dear horse racers, At the Wasco County Fair, as the RVs and tents crowd out what was once the teepee vil- lage, we strived to keep the In- dian encampment and the pro- grams alive. Three years in a row my fam- ily sponsored the three-quarter mile races. We were honoring our daughter Eliza “Hot Dog” Greene. I had planned to spon- sor the Relay Race this year in honor of our jockey Eliza and her holders, the late Jim Wesley and Oly Meanus.
