Storm shut down many departments

the road.
There were no serious in­
juries, though a cbuple o f

hidden in the snow. •

caught, and it took seven
emergency response workers
to free the person, Martinez
said.
In another case, a person
, in an outlying area made an
em ergency call re p o rtin g
shortness o f breath. The re­
sponse vehicle had to take
some extra time getting there,
. as three feet o f snow were
ppn the roadway.

shut down on Friday, Feb. 7.

T he organization resum ed
normal operations on Tues­
day, Feb. 11.
Fire and Safety, the Police
Department, Utilities, N atu­
ral Resources and Fire Man­
agement worked together in
responding to the various situ­
ations, mainly involving stuck
vehicles.
The last time this kind o f
snow event happened in Feb­
ruary was in 1996, said D an
Martinez, when a major flood
damaged Kah-Nee-Ta Village
and some buildings along the
D eschutes.'
Into last week, emergency
response personnel were on
high alert, and 24-hour watch,
because o f the possibility o f

New location for Go kart, paint ball park

tio n for their G o kart track
and outdoor paintball facil­
ity.
