Day 16: Last morning with
my homestay family. I gave
them their gifts and they liked
them . I w ish I could have
stayed longer. I really liked the
food they served.
Then I got to see all my
ambassador friends again. We

homestays. We w ent to see
place where they make coo-
coo clocks.
D ay 17: We said good-bye
to Germany and Austria. We
took a tour o f a church and
museum. Then we did a com
munity service project. We
helped clean a creek. A t one
p o in t I was sw ept d o w n
stream, but I got out, soaking
wet. We had enough time that
I sat in the sun and dried off.
It was a fun day after all that.
D ay 18: We rode an Al
pin e ro ller co aster, going
down the side o f a m ountain
at 30 miles per hour. It was
totally awesome. We w ent to
a ropes course that was very
fu n ... I officially love Aus
tria. I wish I could stay b ut in
couple days it’s over.
D ay 19: Our. last day in
E urope, and we w ent to a
cheese class and made our
own cheese. I didn’t like how
mine turned out, so I threw
if o u t. T h e n we w e n t to
Zurich, our final destination.
We had a fancy dinner and
friendly good-byes and num
b e r/ email exchange.
D ay 20: We sat at airports
and on airplanes. It Was sad
to see everyone leaving. But
we have cell p h o n e s and
email, so we are probably still
going to communicate. Well,
I ’m going to miss Europe.

Alvis Frank, a resident
o f the Simnasho, likes to

week he caught the bus in

lunch gathering.
Alvis was born on the
reservation in 1938. H e
moved to Pendleton for a
while, but has lived m ost
o f his life on the reserva
tion. He did ranch work for.
