USDA funding in place for k-8
Weaving at Museum
The Confederated Tribe
received final loan confirma
tion last week from the U.S.
D epartm ent o f Agriculture.
The loan is for the construc
tion o f the Warm Springs k-
8 school.
Work began on the school
in July. The tribes and school
district have been paying for
this w ork, m ainly th e site
preparation, with funding on «
hand.
The USDA final approval
means the tribes can now se
cure financing through a lend
ing institution. Receipt o f the
final approval had been an
ticipate, which is why the con
struction was able to begin in
July. '
Still, the final USDA, ap
proval was welcome news to
