Capital
I ’ve lived in Eugene for
m any years. I ’ve le a rn e d
through many gossips and
rum ors or just sayings. E u
gene, Oregon is the capital.of
all the cities that have pollen,
and m ost Natives, if n ot all
N atives have an allergy to
pollen.
O h well, there is medica

As you all k now I am
locked up again for som e
thing I did back in 2004.... I
owed.the state o f Oregon 13
m onths and now I’m almost
finished with it.
I told my family that I was
going to m ove away for a
while, b ut I wasn’t planning
on it to be like this, because
I really thought I was done
w ith th is life. T h is tim e
around I earned some cer
tificates fo r em ploym ent,
h o u sin g , fo o d h an d lin g ,
money management, how to
be a better father, uncle, etc.
I learned a lot o f things that
I never even knew about life
in general. Hopefully, I will
do better out there this time.

Nowadays
I would like to express the
shivers I felt upon hearing
this song, and it reminds me
o f atwai Bird Bruce-Kalama,
w hom I called m om for a
while. The song is called The
Crow and the Butterfly.
I painted your ro o m at
midnight, so I’d know yester
day was over. I 'p u t all your
books on the top shelf, even
the one w ith, the four-leaf
clover. M an, I ’m g e ttin g
older. I took your pictures
o ff the wall and w rapped
them in newspaper bagging.
Your words still serenade me,
your lullabies w on’t let me
sleep. I ’ve never heard such
a haunting melody. O h, it’s
killing me, you know I can
barely b reath ... just like a
crow chasin g a b u tte rfly ,.
Dandelions lost in the sum
m er sky... I never thought
you’d slip away. I guess I was
just a little late...
I just wanted to say I love
you and miss every single
person that has left me and
the precious few who can put
up with me nowadays. Love,
C h arles T . H ello n .
