fer a grief support group in
Madras on Tuesday mornings
starting A ugust 20. It is a
seven-week program to help
people, deal with loss.
The group will meet Tues
days, 8:30 to 10:30 a:m., in
the Juniper Conference room
at St. Charles Madras. It is
open to everyone w ho has
lost a loved one, and there is;
no charge to participate.

Keepseagle was a class ac
tion lawsuit claiming that the
USDA denied thousands o f
Indian farmers and ranchers
the same opportunities to get
farm loans or loan servicing
that were given to white farm
ers and ranchers.
The lawsuit also claimed
that the USDA did n o t do
outreach to Indian farmers
and ranchers or provide them
with the technical assistance
they needed to prepare appli
cations for loans and loan
servicing. O n O ctober 29,
2010, a prelim inary settle
m ent was approved, and is
now. final.
Individuals entitled to a
recovery may receive either
$50,000 or up to $250,000,
and loan forgiveness. Certain
re c o v e rie s— $50,000 and
loan forgiveness— also in
clude having an amount paid
to the 1RS to offset the taxes
owed.
