the Madras High School
Transition Center have
been working in the
Warm Springs
Community Garden
every Thursday in
preparation for the
growing season. The
group provides
community service while
learning job skills.

Grief, loss workshop
A Grief and Loss heal-
ing workshop is scheduled
for all day on Saturday,
May 25 at the Shaker
Church.
There will be a conti-
nental breakfast at 8 a.m.,
lunch at noon, and after-
noon snacks. There will be
ornament-making for the
deceased ones.
There is no age-limit
for this gathering—every-
one is welcome.

Kah-Nee-Ta job fair
Kah-Nee-Ta Resort and
Spa is hosting a job fair this
Wednesday, May 15.
The fair is being held at
the Warm Springs Fire Man­
agement, conference room,
4226 Holliday'Lane; and will
last until 5 p.m.
On site interview schedule
is as follows:
9-11 a.m.: Rooms division,
golf pro shop.
11 a.m.-l p.m.: Rooms di­
vision, recreation.
1-3 p.m.: Food and bever­
age, facilities and security.
3-5 p.m.: Food and bever­
age, gift shop/spa.

Thé Diabetes Prevention
Program is having a family fun
run and walk at 5:30. It will
start at their office on campus.
Immediately after the fun run,
at 6 p.m., they will do blood
sugar checks. Anyone who
gets theirs checked will be

chance to win an iPod dock
alarm clock.

The Madras High School
Parent Center is hosting a
workshop today from 5:30-7
offering 10 Tips for Commu­
nicating with Your Teen. The
session will be presented in
English and Spanish. This
free training is being be pro­
vided by the D eschutes
County Health Department
and will focus on strategies
for communicating with your
teenager. Childcare will be
provided.

brary film center will show the
movie Beasts of the South­
ern Wild, rated PG-13 this
evèning at 7:30 p.m. The film
is free, refreshment are avail­
able and it will be shown at
the Rodriguez annex next to
the library in Madras.

prayer g a the rin g fo r the
Warm Springs Christian com­
munity will be at 6 p.m. at the
High Lookee Lodge Tribal
Room. You are invited to unite
in prayer for the community,
churches and families. This
community gathering takes
place the third Saturday of
each month.

Motorcylce Show and Shine
and Poker Run is today at In­
dian Head Casino. Sign-ups
start at 9:30 and the run be­
gins at noon. Everyone is
welcome to come check out
the motorcycles. There will
be lunch for purchase plus
and afternoon bike rodeo and
events for kids. Proceeds
be n efit the Warm Springs
Boys and Girls Club.

ing California condors (also
