Logging purchase through tribal loan fund
The Private Business Re
volving Loan Fund of the
Confederated Tribes recendy
helped JS Logging purchase
a skidder. Julian Smith will
use the machine for salvage
logging work.
H e searched on the
Internet to find the vehicle.
It’s a 2003 model with very
low hours o f usage, Smith
said. He operated thè same
kind of skidder for a num
ber o f years on previous
jobs.
He purchased the vehicle
from a seller in N orthern
California. Truck driver Lee
Porter, from LaPine, deliv
ered the skidder to Julian and
Patty Smith’s residence ear
lier this month.
On hand for the delivery
were members o f the Pri
vate Business Revolving
Loan (PBRL) Fund team,
including Patricia Gainsforth,
Lonny James and Kahseuss
Jackson. Patty served an
excellent lunch after Julian
backed the skidder down
from the transport trailer.
Julian used the PBRL

Clements. Projects cover a
variety of business ventures,
from logging, to printing and
photography, a cattle opera
tion, a fishing enterprise, two
trucking companies, and the
first PBRL project, Noree’s
Plume Pendleton fabric shop.
Julian and Patty Smith said
they would like to thank the
following people for their
help and support with this
project:
