Warm Springs hosting holiday hoops tourney
The Warm Springs All Indian
Mens Holiday Basketball Tour­
nament is scheduled for Wednes-
day-Saturday, Dec. 28-31 at the
Warm Springs Community Cen­
ter.
The tournament is open to
the first invited 12 teams to sub­
mit entry fee by the deadline of
this Friday, Dec. 16.
Last year’s returning teams
will be placed on the bracket
should they submit entry by
deadline.
D efending champions are
Swantown, from White Swan
Wash. Runner-up last year was
C alifo rn ia W olf Pack from
Hoopa, Calif.; and Stonghold of
Chiloquin and Warm Springs.
Invitations have been sent
out to various team across In­
dian country to come and par­
ticipate.
Sessions will begin at 4 p.m.
on W ednesday, Dec. 28, for
opening round action, followed
by the full schedule of 4 p.m.,
5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
The Thursday schedule will
have two sessions: 12 noon, 1:30
p.m. and 3 p.m., followed by a
break, and the next session be­
gins at 6 p.m., 7:30 pm and 9
pm.
Friday will have two sessions
with the first at 1 p.m. and 2:30
p.m., followed by session two at
6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (semi-fi­
nals).
Saturday will have two ses­
sions with the placing games,
including the Cham pionship
round. Sessions will be at 1:30
p.m. and 3 p.m. (consolation and
fourth-place games), followed
by championship round session
at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Teams will compete for top
honors o f Pendleton jackets
with awards of runner-up, third
thru fifth place awards, Most
Valuable Player, All-Tournament
team, Team Sportsmanship, Mr.
Hustle and Tournament High
Scorer. For more information

The casino at Kah-Nee-Ta's last day will be January 2nd
(closing at 4am on January 3rd). The New Indian Head
Casino will open on Highway 26 in Warm Springs in early
February. The Resort will remain open. The Spa, golf course
and hot springs pool are open year-round.
• Kah-Nee-Ta slot tickets will need to be redeemed
before closing on January 2, 2012. Tickets can be
redeemed in person or mailed to Kah-Nee-Ta at PO
Box 1240, Warm Springs, Oregon 9 77 6 1 Attn. Acct.
Department.
• Blackjack gaming chips can be redeemed up till
April 1, 2012 at the new casino.
After these dates, tickets and gaming chips will be void.
