Spilyay Tymoo, Warm Springs, Oregon
OPB TV now available in Warm Springs
Oregon Public Broadcasting
has just turned on a new digital
television translator to provide
OPB television service to the
communities of Warm Springs
and Sunnyside.
This joint project with OPB
and the Confederated Tribes of
Warm Springs provides free
television service to a popula
tion previously not served by
cable or over-the-air transmis
sions.
The new channel is displayed
on channel 11, although the sig
nal is broadcast on UHF chan
nel 30. You should scan your
digital TV or TV converter box
so that you can receive all of
OPB’s channels: OPB and OPB
Plus.
You can view these on 11.1
and 11.2, respectively. In addi
tion, you can listen to OPB’s FM
service as well as KMHD on
11.3.
If you have a digital ready
TV, you simply need an antenna,
like rabbit ears. These are avail
able for about $10 at electron
ics stores or “marts” in the re
gion.
If you have an older analog
TV, then you need to purchase
a converter box. One on-line
