Jamboree
Day
Over 300 people enjoyed the
attractions at Family Jamboree
Day held at the Community
Center last Wednesday. The in
flated water slide and Tommy’s
snow cones were the perfect
answer to the rising temperature.
Kids lined up anxiously wait
ing for their turn to rock climb,
bounce in the Jungle Safari, or
run through the Rat Race ob
stacle course. Evidence o f a
successful event were the smiles
on all of the kids faces as they
ran from one ride to the next.
Carol Sahme, organizer and
Community Center employee,
commented, “It was nice to see
all of the families enjoying them
selves. I w ant to give a big
thanks to the Summer Youth
workers who make it possible
to put on the Family Jamboree
Day.” Youth workers supervised
the different play structures, ran
the games, and picked up trash
that was left behind.
The Jamboree is an annual
event that has provided fun
summer memories for genera
tions. One o f the m ost
memborable was the year that
the hot air balloon got away.
