Warm Springs youth were able to enjoy one more ski day before the season ends at Mt. Hood Meadows. About 40 skiers
and snowboarders and took to the slopes. Pictured above is the ski instructor assisting students on the magic carpet
that brings you to the top of the beginner hill.

Participant Luncheon tba
April 30 will be a big day of
healthy fun for our entire com­
munity. The annual Bike Repair
and Rodeo will be at Madras
High School, along with the Let’s
Get Healthy! Health and Science
Fair.
At 11 a.m., put on your run­
ning shoes and head to the track
for the first ever Movin’ Moun­
tains Poker Run/Walk, open to
everyone: Walk or run a lap, and
get a playing card, up to five
cards.
2 fundraisers for MHS softball
The are two fundraisers
this week benefitting the
Madras High School softball
team.
The first fundraiser is to­
day, Wednesday, A pril 30
from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a
car wash, and Indian taco and
fry bread sale. Location: Les
Schwab in Madras.
The second fundraiser will be
from 3:30-5:30 p.m. this Thurs­

hand. You may, of course, con­
tinue exercising beyond the five
laps required.

The Tygh Ridge All Indian
Rodeo is set for May 14-15.
The event will be two 1-day
rodeos, beginning at 1 p.m.
each day.
Admission is $5 (6-years
and under free). The rodeo
grounds are located 21 miles
south of The Dalles, eight
miles north of the old Tygh
V alley rodeo grounds on
Highway 97.
M ain events: saddle
bronc, bareback, ladies bar­
rel racing, calf roping, ladies
breakaway, bull doggin, two
top money winners in team
roping and century team rop­
ing, combined in memory of
D anny and Gordon Scott
(leather sleeved embroidered
jackets), sponsored by the
Scott family.
Special events: cow riding,
barrels and breakaway, top

saddle and bridle. In memory

ketball Player of the Year, and
also chosen to the all-state sec-
ond team.
Abby Scott, also a junior, was
named to the all-state second
team.
Senior JoElla Smith was cho­

mention team.
