The meeting will be from
6-7:30 p.m. in the Education
Building, 1110 Wasco St.
The information meeting
is for adults who are consid
ering starting or returning to
college this fall in order to
complete a bachelor’s degree.
About one quarter of OSU-
Cascades’ Students are adults
who had earned college cred-
its at one or more schools prior
to enrolling at OSU-Cascades.

ees will receive inform ation
about OSU-Cascades 11 accred
ited degree programs from both
Oregon State University and the
University o f Oregon, and the
options within each. In most
cases, prospective students can
apply credits earned at a com
munity college or other univer
sity. Inform ation will also be
available about academic advis
ing, and OSU-Cascades’ part
nership with Central Oregon
Community College, where stu-
dents complete any necessary
lower division courses before
transitioning to upper divi
sion classes at OSU-Cas-
cades.
Participants will also learn
about the steps towards ap
plying for financial aid, in
cluding the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid, and
basic in fo rm atio n ab o u t
scholarships, g ran ts and

Training on suicide prevention
The Confederated Tribes will
host an Applied Suicide Inter
vention Skills,Training program
on June 29-30 at the community
center.
The training will be from
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both
days.
The Applied Suicide Inter
vention Skills Training (ASIST)
workshop is for caregivers who
want to feel more comfortable,
confident and com petent in
helping to prevent immediate
risk o f suicide.
Over 750,000 caregivers have
participated in this two-day,
highly interactive, practical,
practice-oriented workshop.
