Stan Simtustus and Stanley Simtustus Jr. recently cleaned buffalo meat to prepare for freezing. The tribes received two
whole buffaloes after exchanging salmon with the Fort Hall reservation. According to Stan Simtustus, the tribes also
exchanged salmon for buffalo meat with Fort Hall last year. The buffalo received this year will be cooked for the upcoming
Huckleberry Feast, as well as for a later celebratldn. In Simtustus’ opinion, the exchange benefits the tribes because It
helps to bring the two groups of people together. Council Chairman Ron Suppah Is a supporter of the program.
