Grant Makers of Oregon
and Southwest Washington
traveled to Warm Springs re-

about the area and the cur

Because som e o f th e

an Indian reservation or had
never been to a reservation,
White said, the trip served to
educate participants o f local
culture and current needs.
“They’rè all wanting to use
their resources in the best
and m o st effective way,”
Representatives from various grant programs spent time touring Warm Springs as well as
Sherar’s Bridge and other areas, where they had the opportunity to learn about
petroglyphs.
White explained.
D uring the trip the group
took a driving tour of the res
ervation. Several community
m em b ers serv ed as to u r
guides tô educate participants
about local culture and the his
tory o f the Warm Springs res

In addition to a guided tour
o f the M usefim at W arm
Springs, the group toured Warm
Springs Forest Product Indus
tries, the language program ,
Early C hildhood E ducation,
I.H.S., and the Pelton Round
Butte Dam.
The group also enjoyed a din

two-day trip, the group spoke
with tribal leadership to learn
about tribal finance and later

enjoyable. “Everyone has
been really, really wonder
ful,” she said.
