Life changes
4, 2007 will be my 6th spiritual
birthday in the Lord. It was and
at times can still be a struggle
to maintain sobriety, but when
I lean on the Lord and His
strength the load is lighter. Yes,
we each have our storms to go
through, Dut when we have the
Lord on our side we can
persevere. It is only when we
try to lean on our own strength,
that we fail. ( Sorry rumor people...
I did not relapse).
On July 20 and 21 my friend
Jan Hicks will be returning to
Warm Springs for another
Crossing2Freedom healing
workshop.
Please join u? and hear her
testimony of addiction, abuse
and freedom! This workshop is
open to men, Women and
teens. Watch for flyers!
God Bless You,
Sarah J. Frank.
Pool tourney
The Selena Boise Benefit
Handicap Pool Tournaments
held at the Redmond Moose
Lodge and Rialto turned out to
be a big success.
It was an event to be remem
bered by the audience and par
ticipants for a long time. Every
one came together and had a
great time while at the same time
showing support for a friend or
relative during a time of hard
ship. ,
The games were very close
and highly contested as the tal
ent was outstanding. The format
Toys-Tools-Housewares-Clothing-Crafts-Gifts-
was man vs. man and woman
vs. woman 2-out and 3 the
handicap: woman vs. man
woman automatically receives
one point, woman mus t win one,
man must win two.
The top finishers were Anna
Speck in Redmond and at the
Rialto it was Karla Bagley Tias,
Chief Smith, “Billy Bob” Smith
and Pearl Van Pelt.
There was a much appreci
ated show o f support by the
local community as raffle prizes
were'donated, the cutbead work
on the raffle items was immacu
late.
The necklaces made by Maria
Godines and Pat Alle^ wete
beautiful. Thanks for respond
ing, all items were helpful. A big
thank you goes out fo the Mu
seum at Warm Springs, Lolita
Greeley, Angel and Maria
Godines, Wiggy, Lynn Davis',
Pat Allen, Pearl Van Pelt, Rose
Scott and Tony Littleleaf.
Double thank you to the top
finishers, they all donated back ,
their prize winnings to the ben
efit. Gee-whiz, talk about hearts
of gold.
I would ako like to thank
Donna Wananwit, Glenda
Kessel, tourney director- Pat
Allen, for a great job. Thank you '
Jaylyn Suppah and Roxanne
Johnson for helping me with the
flyers, The Heartbreaker Pool
Cue Stick went to Heidi Cole
of Redmond. Thanks to anyone
who may have been missed. .

? The Fourth of July is just
around the corner. If you are
planning to buy fireworks, please
purchase only those that aré le
gal in Oregon.
A good rule oif thumb is, if
it flies in the air it probably is
not legal here in Oregon. Ac
cording to the State Fire
Marshal’s Office, the following
are legal fireworks: base foun
tains, handle fountains, sparklers
(wood core), cone fountains,
ground bloom flowers and
wheels.
v^Those that are illegal are: ro
man bandies, missiles, bottle,
rockets, all firecrackers, aerial
spinners, bees, helicopters and
jumping jacks.
Ensure your fun this Fourth
of July by following these safety
tips: WM jf i jl
Never allow children to play
with matches or lighters.
Make sure an adult is always
present.
Keep fireworks away from
small children.
Keep pets indoors or secured
in a fenced area away from fire
works.
Avoid dry vegetation, debris
or buildings that may catch fire.
Never point or throw fire
works at people, animals, cars
or buildings.
. Have a hose or bucket of
water ready to extinguish a fire

Hello. I am writing this letter
to share with you some changes
that I have made in my life.
After much consideration on
April 27, 2007 I gave notice of
resignation at Victims of Crime
Services. I worked there for 5
1/2 years. I was very clear in
my final resignation letter why I
chose to resign. I gave adequate
notice, but had to leave a few
days earlier than expected due
to a death in my husband’s
family. ¡(Curtis and I were re
married on Feb. 25, 2007).
Several years ago Pastor Lee
told me “Sarah, God placed you
at Victims of Crime Services
and only God could take you
out.”
There were many times that
I tried to quit or others tried to
get me fired, but only God had
the power to open and shut that
door. On April 23rd it was my
time to leave and God opened
the door. Believe the, I miss
being at VOC’s, but I have faith
in the Lord and His will for me
and my family.
The Lord has His vessels at
VOC’s right now and I know
they will continue to do a good
work with the love, integrity and
compassion they each carry. It
was an honor to work with each
of- you! Keep up the good
work! Congratulations Sammy
on your promotion, you deserve
it!
Now to correct the rumors...
on July 2, 2007 I will be cel
ebrating six years of being alco
hol and drug (meth) free! July
