Scoping meetings scheduled
Tribal members are being asked to provide comments on
the proposed 2009 Tim ber Sale and a plan to assess the
harvest o f trees killed by mountain pine beetle.
Timber Committee, the Natural Resources Branch arid
Branch o f Forestry will host three scoping meetings in early
June to discuss these projects.
Employees from Forestry and Natural Resources will pro
vide inform ation regarding the 2009 tim ber sale and a
largescale assessment to harvest beetle-killed trees on reser
vation forestlknds.
The first meeting is scheduled for Jun e 5 at Agency
Longhouse, the second for June 6 at Simnasho Longhouse
and the third, for June 7 at Seekseequa Fire Station. Food will
be served at 6;p.m. and each meeting begins at 7 p.m.
g f: The technical staff will point out general areas where trees
might be harvested and how both o f the projects could be
implemented. Comrjients received during the scoping meet
ing will be used to develop separate assessments for each
project.
