Harvey Jim served in the
armv from 1969-1971 and
was sent to Germany and
Vietnam.
In Jim ’s opinion, celebrat
ing appreciation for soldiers
is som ething that should
happen regularly.
“This is way overdue,”
Jim said. “This should have
been done a long time ago.”
“I am glad all us brothers
are together at this one time
and this specific purpose,”
Jim said.
Marvin Ike served in the
Navy from 1962-1966 and
was sent to Vietnam.
Ike spoke out against anti
war protesters, and said, “I
think this is really needed.”
“This goes to show that
not everyone is like the pro
testers,” Ike added.
As for those currently
serving in Iraq, Ike said, “I
just hope they make it safe.”
Ike added, “We’ll be here
when they come back here
to show our support.”

Root Feast Rodeo in April
The Root Feast Jackpot Rodeo Family Fun
Day will be Saturday, April 28 starting at noon
at the Warm Springs Rodeo Arena.
Adult events include the wild horse race,
wild ride with saddle, barrel racing. Youth
events are the rescue race, the wild colt race,
calf riding, and mutton busting.
Fun events for free are the women’s boot
race, the calf scramble, and the stick horse
race.
Entry dates are April 16-18 from 6 to 8
p.m. only. Entry phone number is 553-1208.
Walk in entry day of rodéo from‘9 to 11
a.m. only. All entries must be paid by 11 a.m.
on April 28, no exceptions.

Historical Society Annual Fundraiser Dinner
The Jefferson County Historical Soci-
ety will host its annual fundraiser dinner
on Saturday, April 14 at the Culver Chris-
tian Church Annex. The event begins at
5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30. The
speaker will be Dr. Alice Parman.
There will be entertainment, a silent
auction, raffle, door prizes. Dinner tick-
